House

Hopscotch
Rules:
- Draw several circles of chalk in a row and a finish line at the end.
- Throw a stone into a circle of chalk.
- Jump to where the stone landed.
- Pick up the stone and throw it again.
- Jump to where it was thrown.
- Repeat these steps until someone reaches the finish line.
Marbles
Rules:
- Draw a circle of chalk.
- Everyone places their marble in a row inside the circle.
- There is a big marble called a dumper used to knock the other marbles out.
- Someone flicks the dumper and tries to knock a marble out of the circle.
- Any marble they knock out is theirs.
Towns
Two girls came up with the name of a town. They would then make a story with the town name hidden in it. For example, “I went into town to get some Liver but on the way home I dropped it in the Pool.” If someone guessed the town correctly, the two girls would chase them. If they caught them, they would join the girls and so on and so forth.
Helicopter
One person grasps one handle of the jump rope. The remaining participants form a circle around him. The player with the jump rope lays it out on the floor and spins in a circle. As the opposite handle of the jump rope passes the players, they must jump over it. A player who trips or is hit with the jump rope is eliminated. The final standing player is the winner and becomes the helicopter spinner.
Skipping
If you have a long skipping rope two people can each take an end of the rope and swing it while someone jumps saying a chant or singing a song.
Skipping Chants:
- Alphabet song-A my name is ALICE, my husband’s name is AL, we live in ALABAMA and we bring back APPLES.
- B my name is BETTY, my husband’s name is BEN, we live in BERMUDA and we bring back BUGS.
- C my name is CAROL, my husband’s name is CARL, we live in COLORADO and we bring back CRABS.It just goes on like that through the alphabet.
